A birthday, a birthday, la-lalala-lala

And now for a fun post all about the day of Karis complete with lots of pictures, although, since she has gained mobility, it is incredibly hard to get a good picture of her.  I am able to get lots of close-ups though!

first thing in the morning. I love those curls!

The day started just like any other except that I sang her the birthday song first thing.  She appropriately danced to my singing and then clapped when I finished.  She is the best audience!

We put on her birthday shirt and got ready for the day.  Nana, Aunt Kasey, Kenzie, Caden and Katie came bearing gifts and doughnuts.

Caden trying out the "birthday chair"

Kenzie helped open her presents

She thanked them with applause.

When we gave her the doughnut with candle on top she was a bit concerned, but after we blew it out and handed it to her to eat, she decided that birthdays are good.  She likes sugar!

That afternoon we went to Muddy's to get her some birthday cupcakes.  I'm making cupcakes for Saturday, so no homemade ones today.
When Daddy got home we grabbed dinner at Memphis Pizza Cafe where she enjoyed eating our toppings with some goldfish on the side, and then we came home to eat her cupcake.
She's saying "DADA"
I had a vision of getting some "good" pictures of her eating her cupcake so we stripped her down and put her to work.  Unfortunately it was dark outside (so the lighting was off) and after about 45 seconds she cared more about the camera than the cupcake.  Aww good intentions.  We had fun though, and that's all that matters.

Love you baby girl!

Haha and did you notice all the cameras in that one picture?! I loved it when she started saying "chee!". We have collectively trained our children well!!
